Customer Reviews about Athens Orthopedic Clinic

  • I highly recommend AOC because of their incredible staff and Dr. Price! You will be in good hands. I had surgery at the AOC outpatient facility in Athens and I wanted to share my experience. First, when I met with Dr. Price to discuss having surgery, he was very kind and was extremely thorough when going over his plan, recommendations, what I should expect, and answering all of my questions. Then the office followed up with me multiple times prior to the day my surgery was scheduled going over everything I needed to know. On the day of the surgery, I arrived and didn’t have to wait long to be greeted by Jennifer S. Jennifer S. was very kind and took her time asking questions and explaining everything I needed to know. She got me prepped for surgery and while I was waiting on the bed to be rolled in to the operating room, she checked up on me regularly making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. She also kept me posted as the final steps were taken to prep me for surgery. Dr. Price then came in and went over everything with me and my wife again and answered all of our questions. I forgot the name of the Anesthesiologist, but it was a man, he was very kind, took his time asking questions and explaining what I needed to know. Everything from that point on I was asleep for, but I later learned everything went according to plan and there were no complications. Post-surgery, I awoke to see Jennifer C. and I was in a new room. She took her time with me as I came to (I could tell she was watching my mannerisms until she saw I would be able to understand her), explained everything I needed to know, and was very attentive to my needs and comfort up to the point I was released. I later learned from my wife that she was keep up to speed on everything which helped keep her calm and she was given some documentation on what I need to do in the coming weeks which is making things much easier on her. Dr. Price also pulled her aside in a private area to discuss how things went after he finished the surgery, what he did, what to expect next, and answered her questions. My wife commented that she saw other Doctors share similar information with family members in the waiting room, but the other doctors didn’t share the information in private, and that she appreciated the fact that Dr. Price pulled her to the side in private to make her comfortable and give her attention. Our experiences with other Doctors, their offices, and hospitals have not been good ones and we deal with it more than most people. For example, 15 years ago when my son was born at Northside Hospital. There were a lot of complications which included my wife having to be hospitalized for 2 weeks prior to her giving birth at 30 weeks into her pregnancy, and then my son remaining in the hospital for another month until he was breathing on his own and healthy enough for us to take home. Very little was communicated properly to me and my wife the whole time, and the nurses didn’t properly care for my wife during the 2 weeks she was there. We had an issue with my son’s primary care Doctor when he was an infant. His scull wasn’t developing properly and the Doctor didn’t say anything about it when it could have been addressed. My wife has Lupus, hypothyroidism, NMO, and three other autoimmune diseases. It took us 12 years to find a Doctor that would believe her problems were real and begin running the proper tests. Even after this it took 2 more years to find a Specialist that would spend the proper amount of time to create a pain management plan. I mention all of this so you understand what I mean when I say I was blown away by the level of care everyone has given me at AOC and most of all by Dr. Price, the Anesthesiologist, Jennifer S., and Jennifer C.. I felt like a customer, who was treated the way a customer should be treated. I felt like my wife was seen and treated like a customer. That my needs and comfort as well as my wife’s needs were everyone’s top priority. It was very clear to me that over communication was the norm.
